Lambda Theta Alpha Honors World Day for Cultural Diversity with Inaugural Letters Beyond Borders Campaign

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

In celebration of the United Nations’
World Day for Cultural Diversity for
Dialogue and Development, Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. (ΛΘΑ)
proudly led its first Letters Beyond
Borders initiative—a nationwide call
to unity, visibility, and cross-cultural
celebration across Greek-lettered
organizations.

The campaign, coordinated by the
Sorority’s External Affairs Division,
invited members and partner
organizations to wear their letters
with pride and share stories and
traditions that reflect the richness of
their heritage.

A dynamic social media challenge using the hashtag #LettersBeyondBorders helped amplify the campaign’s reach and visibility, drawing participation from campuses, alumni networks, and communities
across the country.

“Our vision for World Cultures Day was one of vibrant collaboration, and we were proud to
connect with other Greek organizations who shared our passion for celebrating diversity,” said
Sabrina-Kahokulani Sergeant, Vice President of External Affairs for Lambda Theta Alpha Latin
Sorority, Inc. “Together, we created an experience that truly showcased the beauty and
significance of cultures from around the globe.”

Held on May 21, 2025, World Cultures Day served as the anchor of the campaign and brought
together a collective of multicultural Greek organizations—including Sigma Lambda Gamma,
Omega Phi Beta, Chi Upsilon Sigma, Lambda Sigma Gamma, Lambda Theta Phi, Lambda
Sigma Upsilon, and Lambda Tau Omega—demonstrating a shared commitment to unity and
intercultural understanding.

Founded in 1975 as the first Latina sorority in the United States, Lambda Theta Alpha has long
upheld a mission of inclusivity, sisterhood, and social impact. Through initiatives like Letters
Beyond Borders, the organization continues to foster environments where culture is not only
acknowledged but celebrated as a source of strength and connection.
