FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. and the League of Women Voters National Partnership Established
Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Inc. is excited to announce a new partnership. As of August 2025, Lambda Theta Alpha is an official partnering organization with the League of Women Voters! The League of Women Voters’ foundational principles are Nonpartisanship and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, with a mission to Empower Voters and Defend Democracy.

About The League
The League of Women Voters is a women-led, nonpartisan organization that has fought since 1920 to empower voters and defend democracy. It conducts pro-voter activity at the national, state and local level through 750+ leagues in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. With more than a million members and supporters, the League is one of the most trusted nonpartisan voices in the elections landscape with deep grassroots support in every corner of America. In 2024 alone, the League was able to provide 9.19+ million voters with trusted, nonpartisan voting information in both English and Spanish using its award-winning VOTE411.org platform, contact 30+ million voters to get out the vote through digital and in-person organizing events, register hundreds of thousands of voters, and more.
The League of Women Voters has many partners like NALEO, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Girl Scouts USA, American Library Association, and more to reach communities across the nation.
What Does This Mean For Lambda Theta Alpha Members?
This year, we aimed to expand opportunities for members to stay engaged with their communities, both during and after their undergraduate journeys. With LWV chapters in every state, members have an incredible chance to connect locally and discuss the issues that matter most to their areas. We understand that after graduation, members may stay near their university, return to their hometown, or relocate entirely. That’s why we are excited to build this partnership. To empower members to be civic leaders in any community they call home, whether or not there’s a nearby LTA chapter. Our goal is to ensure that your impact doesn’t end with graduation, it evolves with you.
Members can search for the closest League chapter to them by checking here, and learn more about the work each does. Local League chapters host a variety of events throughout the year and offer opportunities for volunteer hours, collaboration, and more! See below for various events that chapters have hosted across the United States.
The League of Women Voters Education Fund – Vote411.org/LTA
The League of Women Voters Education Fund works to register and provide voters with election information through its election resource VOTE411.org (en Español – VOTE411.org/es), candidate forums, and debates. This year, members of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated, will be able to start sharing the Vote411.org/LTA in our communities. VOTE411 is used for much more than voter registration; members will be able to use this tool to provide tangible civic resources in their communities: localized ballot guides, information on polling place locations, absentee and mail-in voting options, election deadlines, etc.
In 2020, in partnership with the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Educational Fund, the League of Women Voter’s Education fund launched the award-winning election website, VOTE411.org, in Spanish! The website is unique in offering fully bilingual voting rules and guidance covering all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
The League of Women Voters Education Fund is committed to ensuring voters have the information they need to successfully participate in every election. The League created VOTE411.org in 2006 and has provided tens of millions of voters with information about the election process and information directly from candidates regarding their vision for their communities and America’s future. Every election, whether local, state, or federal, is important to ensuring our laws and policies reflect the values and beliefs of our communities.
What’s Next?
LTA’s National Political Education Initiative Committee will be hosting a “Meeting The League” event on September 3rd @ 7:30pm ET. Registration for Lambda Theta Alpha members is now open on Campus Groups! This will be an opportunity to learn about the resources and partnership opportunities members will have on the local and state level! We encourage each area to have 1-2 representatives attend this meeting as we hope to provide collaboration opportunities. National Voter Registration Day is quickly approaching on September 16th, 2025, and we hope that this announcement will provide you all with resources to build on the impact you all are having in your communities.
Members of both organizations are encouraged to search their nearest chapters (LTA Chapter Look Up, LWV Chapter Look Up) for initial introductions ahead of National Voter Registration Day.
